The Fondren community is
blessed with excellent public and private schools. The
Jackson Public School System operates Boyd Elementary School (Grades 3-5) on Northside Drive,
which has been adopted by the Fondren Renaissance Foundation
through the JPS Adopt-A-School Partnership program. Nearby McWillie
Elementary School (K – 2nd Grade) offers the
attractive Montessori program as part of its curriculum.
Fondren area students who choose to continue in the public
school system, then track through Chastain Middle School and Murrah High School, both outstanding components of
our public school system.
St. Andrews Episcopal Lower School is located on
the school’s south campus at 4120 Old Canton Road
in Fondren and is one of the Jackson metro area’s
premier private institutions, serving Pre-K through Grade
4.
St. Richard Catholic School,
located at 100 Holly Drive in Fondren,
is an extraordinary private school serving Pre-K4 through
Grade 6. St. Richard has been selected by the Mississippi
Arts Commission as one of its Whole School initiatives,
with a concentration on a special arts curriculum.
St. James Episcopal Church on Oakridge Drive offers the
Montessori program on a daily basis to children ages 3
to 5 years old. There are also numerous other private
pre-school programs at various churches in the Fondren
area, including Woodland Hills Baptist, St. Luke's Methodist
and The Privette School at Broadmeadow Methodist.
