Mike Peters, Andrew Mattiace and their wives Ann Peters and Jan Mattiace, have been instrumental in the redevelopment of the Fondren district. The purchase and renovation of the 2906 building became a benchmark in the history of the Fondren community.
With vision and determination, Mike Peters and Andrew Mattiace created the area’s first urban living environment. This building was transformed into Fondren Corner where many come to live, work, and play. Now, this dynamic duo is bringing a renewed energy to Duling Avenue with the development of Fondren Place and Duling Shops. Whatever their next move or direction, excitement and synergy will follow!
Fondren Renaissance Foundation is delighted by the continued support Blue Cross Blue Shield of Mississippi provides as our lead event sponsor. Cellular South joins this year as an additional event sponsor. The Foundation also offers a special place on the lawn for any who may wish to recognize our honorees by supporting this concert. Corporate sponsors contributing $1,500.00 receive a designated table for eight, a lovely fall picnic supper, and two reserved parking passes. Also available is a reserved Friends Table for $500.00, also with designated seating for eight yet food is not included. This event is free of charge to the public, who are welcome and encouraged to bring a blanket or chairs and enjoy this wonderful night of music and fellowship.
The Fondren Renaissance Foundation is grateful for the continued interest and support in making this a special evening for our community. Together we inspire others to make a difference by spotlighting our neighbors and the example of their leadership. The 2009 honorees Anne and Mike Peters, and Jan and Andrew Mattiace, join others including Dr. Helen Barnes, Sister Dorothea Sondgeroth, Melba and Chip Bowman, Mary and Wirt Yerger, the Mary Grace Brown family, Mary and Bob Adams, Barbara and Barry Plunkett and Frenchie and Buddy Graham, who have all worked tirelessly for Fondren.
